The battery on my generator just went dead so I hooked the battery charger onto it. I'm not sure if the battery is fully charged yet. Will the generator charge the battery up the rest of the way if I have enough charge to get the engine started?? I didn't know if the generator worked similarly to a car charging the battery with the alternator. Thanks for your help!! Asked by calories - Thu Jul 9 16:19:43 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. This depends on the engine. If the engine was equipped with a generator to charge the battery, it will charge the battery, given enough time. Most generators that have electric start will have a generator but I have seen one that did not (I think it was an 8hp, larger ones are more likely to have it). If you trace the wiring from the battery, you will see that the heavy Pos cable will go to the solenoid (a big relay) and from there will be a couple of smaller wires that go to the key or start button. If you see additional wiring going to a metal box (often with cooling fins), this is probably the charging regulator so you could conclude that it will charge the battery. If you have a voltmeter, connect it across the battery (without the… [cont.] Answered by TechnoStuff - Thu Jul 9 16:54:50 2009 How does spreading of charge contribute to the stability of a molecule? Q. But this is not my main question is: How is spreading of charge possible in tertiary carbocation? I understand that positive charge is spread throughout the molecule but isn't the negative charge concentrated in a single atom of carbon? So, in one sense, isn't the negative charge localised? Please help me clear my confusion Asked by Jibu - Wed Jul 29 20:20:47 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments How close to the fixed charge does the particle get before it comes to rest and starts traveling away?
Q. A positive charge of 4.80 C is fixed in place. From a distance of 4.10 cm a particle of mass 6.80 g and charge +3.50 C is fired with an initial speed of 80.0 m/s directly toward the fixed charge. How close to the fixed charge does the particle get before it comes to rest and starts traveling away? Asked by Bobby T - Sun Feb 17 14:50:37 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Let q(1) be the fixed charge and q(2) the moving one with speed V. Let d be the initial distance between the two charges and x the distance when the moving charge stops. Conservation of the total energy requires that the initial energy (sum between potential and kinetic energy equates the final potential energy i.e. mV^2/2+kq(1)q(2)/d=q(1)q( 2)k/x (1) solve (1) for x in order to obtain the required result Answered by Rothenstein B - Sun Feb 17 15:11:43 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "charge" China Drops State Secrets Charge in Rio Tinto Case
